Calabash

(Serves 3)

Ingredients

4 cups water
1 cup whole tur dal (peas) soaked overnight
2 cloves garlic
1 cup bottle gourd, diced
1 teaspoon black pepper
Salt
1 tablespoon oil
2 stalks onion chives, finely chopped
1 capsicum, finely chopped
1 tomato, diced


Preparation

  1. Mix together water, whole tur, garlic, bottle gourd, black pepper and salt.
  2. Bring to boil on medium heat till whole tur is tender.
  3. Sauté remaining ingredients for 5 minutes and add to the above mixture and simmer for 15 minutes.
